Performance analysis

FY2024

WSDOT web site pageviews increase

The first full fiscal year for the new external website design was 2023, and WSDOT continues to see an increase in activity on its website. Page views increased 70.1% from 52,300,000 in FY2023 to 88,920,000 in FY2024. WSDOT also make continuous improvements to the site, making it as easy as possible for users to get the information and tools they are looking for. One way WSDOT made it easy for users to share their ideas is by implementing a sitewide feedback form, so that users can send their thoughts from whatever page they are on. WSDOT has also added camera images to search results and made it easier for users searching for a specific location to find that location on the real-time map.

This year also marked the transition from the old Universal Analytics, which was the industry standard for many years but was discontinued by Google, to the new GA4 system for tracking site statistics. The new Analytics is fully implemented, and new tools have been created that make it easier for page owners to find data about their pages.

WSDOT website ad revenue in calendar year 2023

In late 2023 due to a surge of advertising spam we had to turn off the Google Ad network and are only serving ads up from direct buyers. This shift significantly reduced the amount of money we make from web advertising, making only $45,400 for calendar year 2023.
