I-90/EB Mercer Slough Bridge - Rehabilitation

Project overview

This project will rehabilitate just under one mile of eastbound Interstate 90 Mercer Slough Bridge from Bellevue Way Southeast to I-405. Crews working for WSDOT will install new bearing seats, modify expansion joints and install new expansion seals. This work will preserve the structural integrity of the bridge and extend its service life.

What to expect

During construction, crews will install new bearing seats, modify expansion joints and install new expansion seals. Work will primarily be at night. 

Throughout the project, travelers can expect nighttime lane and ramp closures on eastbound I-90.

  • East Mercer Way to EB I-90 On-ramp
  • EB I-90 to E Mercer Way Off-ramp
  • EB I-90 HOV to Bellevue Way Off-ramp
  • Bellevue Way SE to EB I-90 On-ramp
  • EB I-90 HOV to NB and SB I-405 Ramp
  • EB I-90 to NB and SB I-405 Ramp
  • 80th AVE SE HOV to EB I-90 On-ramp 

Full eastbound I-90 closures will be scheduled with detours. 

This project will preserve the structural integrity of the I-90 eastbound Mercer Slough Bridge.
