Express lanes remain northbound only, 24/7, through Aug. 18

To facilitate the northbound I-5 lane reductions, the I-5 express lanes will remain open and in the northbound direction only around-the-clock beginning at  11:15 a.m. on Friday, July 18 until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18. Travelers are advised to plan ahead for additional congestion in the express lanes and consider alternate routes if possible. 

People who usually use the express lanes in the southbound direction should plan for extra traffic as all people going south on I-5 during morning commute hours will have to use only the mainline lanes. If possible, people should consider alternatives such as light rail, carpooling or adjusting their schedule.
