I-90/EB West Lake Sammamish Parkway to East Sunset Way - Paving

Eastbound I-90 will have up to 3 left lanes closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly beginning Sunday, August 10, for several weeks.

The speed limit on eastbound I-90 will be reduced to 45 mph to create a safer work zone for construction crews. People travelling in the area should be prepared to slow down through the construction zone and may experience delays during this work.

Additionally, pavement grinding in the area will create uneven, grooved pavement with abrupt edges. Motorcycles should use extreme caution.

Project overview

This project will rehabilitate 4.23 miles of eastbound Interstate 90, from West Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast (MP 13.77) to East Sunset Way (MP 18.07) in Issaquah. Crews working for WSDOT will remove and replace the existing roadway surfaces. Once contractor crews finish grinding and inlaying new hot mix asphalt (HMA), the roadway surface will have a smoother ride for years to come.
