What to expect

Construction for this project phase is complete.

Phases 1 and 2 of the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East project widened I-90 from four to six lanes, stabilized rock slopes, built bridges and connected wildlife habitat.

We increased capacity and improved safety by:

  • Adding a new lane in each direction
  • Replacing deteriorating concrete pavement
  • Reducing road closures due to avalanches
  • Adding and replacing bridges and culverts
  • Straightening sharp curves
  • Stabilizing rock slopes
