US 2 - South Shore Road to Newport – Paving

Project overview

This project will repave roughly four miles of US 2 between South Shore Road and the City of Newport in Pend Oreille County. The project includes Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) grinding, paving, pavement repair, crack sealing, and joint adhesive. This project will rehabilitate the existing mainline pavement to preserve the roadway’s structure, and to maintain safe operation of the highway for years to come.

What to expect

This project is scheduled for construction during the summer months of 2025 and is expected to last 30 working days. The traveling public can expect nighttime work, with lane closures and pilot car operations for traffic control.
