This project is part of the North Spokane Corridor project that will build the future US 395 limited access freeway from I-90 up to the Wandermere area in North Spokane. Currently, 7 miles of the project are complete with the final 3.5 miles funded through the Connecting Washington package passed by the legislature in 2015. Generally, projects have worked from north to south along the corridor and will continue until the completion of the North Spokane Corridor in 2030.

This is the first project to be constructed and completed south of the Spokane River.
